Partner Agreement

The commercial side of driving with Dongo: what you earn, what we charge, and how money moves between us.

Last updated 17 July 2026

1. What this covers

This agreement sets out the commercial relationship between you (the driver-partner) and Dongo Technologies Ltd. The Terms of Service cover how you use the app; this covers the money.

2. You are independent

You are an independent contractor providing transport services to passengers. Dongo provides the platform that connects you to them. You choose your own hours, your own routes, and which trips to accept. You are responsible for your own vehicle, licensing, insurance and taxes.

3. Fares and commission

The fare for each trip is calculated by the platform from the pricing rules in force when the trip was booked. Editing those rules later never changes a trip that has already been quoted or settled.

Dongo charges commission on the fare at the rate published in the app. Your net earnings are the fare less that commission. The full breakdown for every trip — base fare, waiting, adjustments, commission, your net — is recorded on the trip and available in the app.

4. How you get paid

Trips paid by M-Pesa or card

The passenger pays Dongo. We add your net earnings to your withdrawable balance, and you withdraw to your chosen payout destination on your chosen schedule, subject to the minimum withdrawal amount shown in the app.

Trips paid in cash

The passenger pays you directly and you keep the money there and then. Because you have collected the whole fare, you are also holding Dongo’s commission. That amount is added to your Dongo balance, which you can see, itemised trip by trip, in the app.

Your Dongo balance is settled in two ways:

  • Automatically. Your next trip paid by M-Pesa or card clears the balance first, and only the remainder reaches your withdrawable earnings. If you mix cash and digital work, you never have to do anything.
  • Directly. You can pay it off by M-Pesa from the app whenever you want. This is mainly for drivers who work almost entirely in cash, whose balance would not clear on its own.

If your Dongo balance reaches the limit shown on that screen, you will need to settle it before going back online. The limit and the commission rate are both shown in the app.

5. Cancellations and waiting

Where a passenger cancels after you have accepted and the free-cancellation window has passed, the cancellation fee in force is paid to you and recovered from the passenger on their next trip. Waiting time at pickup and at stops is charged after the free period set in the app, and is paid to you as part of the fare.

6. Deductions and adjustments

We may deduct from your balance amounts you owe us: cash commission, refunds we have issued to a passenger for a trip you did not deliver, or corrections to a mis-settled trip. Every deduction is itemised in the app with its reason. If you disagree with one, raise it through Support and we will look at it.

7. Ending this agreement

Either of us may end this agreement at any time. Earnings you have properly earned remain payable to you, less any balance you owe. A balance you owe Dongo survives the end of this agreement.

8. Changes

We may change commission rates, fees and payout terms. Changes are published in the app before they take effect and never apply retroactively to trips already completed.
