LEGAL
Terms of Service
These terms apply to you as a driver-partner using the Dongo Rider app. They sit alongside the Partner Agreement, which covers the commercial relationship.

1. Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you and Dongo Technologies Ltd (“Dongo”, “we”), a company registered in Kenya. They govern your use of the Dongo Rider app and the Dongo platform.
By creating a driver account, going online, or accepting a trip, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and legally entitled to work and to drive in Kenya.
- Your account is personal. You may not let anyone else drive on it, and you may not drive on anyone else’s. Doing so is grounds for immediate removal.
- The details and documents you give us — licence, insurance, vehicle records, identity — must be true, current, and yours. We verify them before approving you and periodically afterwards.
- You are responsible for keeping your password and device secure.
3. Your vehicle
Every vehicle you use must be approved on your account, roadworthy, and covered by valid insurance and inspection for the class of work you do. If your insurance lapses, your vehicle is suspended automatically and you cannot go online until it is renewed.
4. Trips
- You choose when to go online and which trips to accept. Nothing here obliges you to work.
- Fares are calculated by the platform from the pricing rules in force when the trip was booked.
- You must complete accepted trips to the agreed destination, take a reasonable route, and treat passengers and their property with care.
- Confirm payment honestly at the end of every trip. Reporting a cash fare as uncollected when you were paid is fraud and ends your account.
5. Payments and commission
Dongo charges commission on completed work at the rate published in the app. On trips paid by M-Pesa or card, we collect the fare and pay you your share into your earnings balance.
On cash trips the passenger pays you directly, which means our commission is in your hands rather than ours. That amount appears on your Dongo balance screen. It is taken automatically out of your next M-Pesa or card trip before your earnings are paid out, and you can also settle it directly from the app at any time. If your balance passes the limit shown on that screen, you will need to settle before going back online.
Payouts go to the destination you set, on the schedule you choose, subject to the minimum withdrawal shown in the app.
6. Ratings and conduct
Passengers rate you, and you rate them. Your rating reflects all the work you do on the platform — passenger trips and deliveries alike. Persistent low ratings, confirmed safety complaints, or breaches of these terms can lead to your account being suspended or removed.
7. Your relationship with Dongo
You are an independent contractor. Nothing here creates employment, partnership, or agency between you and Dongo. You decide your own hours and are responsible for your own taxes.
8. Ending the agreement
You may stop using the app and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if your documents lapse, or where we must act on a safety or legal issue. Anything you have properly earned remains payable to you, less anything you owe us.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app before they take effect. Continuing to drive after that means you accept the updated terms.
10. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Questions go to support@dongo.co.ke, or through Support in the Dongo Rider app.
